International Lecture Series 2026 Explores Horticulture as Living Infrastructure for Sustainable Landscapes
Bogor, July 28, 2026 – The Indonesian Horticulture Professional Association (PPHI), in collaboration with Aksa Harita Bhumi (AHB) and the Jakarta Chapter of the Indonesian Society of Landscape Architects (IALI Jakarta), organized the International Lecture Series 2026 under the theme “Horticulture as the Living Infrastructure for Sustainable Landscapes” at Griya Anggrek, Bogor Botanical Gardens.
The event brought together academics, practitioners, professionals, government representatives, and students to discuss the role of horticulture as an integral part of living infrastructure in supporting sustainable landscape development. Through a series of presentations and discussions, the speakers shared insights into the integration of horticulture, landscape architecture, and nature-based solutions to create healthier, more resilient, and sustainable environments.
The event was officially opened by Diana Kusumastuti, Vice Minister of Public Works of the Republic of Indonesia, who emphasized that infrastructure development should not focus solely on physical functionality but should also create healthy, inclusive, and sustainable living spaces. She highlighted the importance of integrating landscape architecture into ecology-based planning, incorporating landscapes into spatial planning, leveraging technology, and fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration to develop resilient green infrastructure that delivers ecological, social, and economic benefits to society.
The International Lecture Series 2026 served as a platform for knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration, highlighting the importance of horticulture and landscape architecture as essential components of sustainable development.
